I have never received Jesus as my Lord and Saviour.

Many people think they are going to heaven because they are good people. But that is the wide gate that Jesus refered to. Later in the chapter Jesus said to them...
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
. Matthew 7:22-23
These people never accepted Jesus as their Lord and Saviour, but thought they were going to heaven because of their good deeds.

But there is only one narrow way into heaven. And that narrow way is Jesus. He Himself said…
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6
