July starts the beginning of
a new year for S.I.S. (sister in service). We would like to offer an
invitation to all ladies attending New Hope Baptist to join us this year. We
plan to have an exciting year, with a new focus and some new goals. We meet
in the gym at 7:00, the first Monday of each month. Most meetings end by
8:30, however, like any other gathering here at NHBC, sometimes people stay
a little longer and fellowship. One of the highlights of S.I.S is drawing
for a Secret Sis. We will be doing this real soon. Even if another
obligation keeps you from attending all or any of our meetings, we still
invite you to participate in "Secret Sis ".
We are planning a retreat to be
held at the church this year. We did this about 3 years ago, and I believe
everyone had a good time and enjoyed the blessing that we received from our
guest speaker, Lynette Godshall. We have our eye out for another special
speaker this year; you won't want to miss this event, trust me!
At our June meeting we
elected officers, and it looks like we're stuck with Brenda McConnell, and
blessed with Teresa Stone another year. Geni Witt, our secretary/treasure
for the past 2 years has stepped down, and Autumn Bear has been elected to
take her place. Thanks Geni for a job well done, and we are looking forward
to working with Autumn this year. It should be interesting and scary... I
mean exciting. Kim Love is our honorary officer, and so faithful in helping
us with all of our clerical needs, and she is back for the fourth year! Yea!
To all of you who are so faithful to come each month, on behalf of the
officers of S.I.S., we want to say thanks so much. To all of you who have
never attended or have joined us just once or twice, we invite you to come
and join us for the first time or join us again.
Thanks again, Brenda, Teresa,
Autumn, and Kim
My prayer: God, I know You
want me to live a life of constant joy & happiness. Thank You for giving me
life, love, & blessings to enjoy, so that I may see just how awesome You
are. Thank You for letting me serve with a great group of ladies at this
church. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
Psalms 68:3 But let the
righteous be glad; let them rejoice before God: yea, let them exceedingly
rejoice.
